UEWM

Attending a new school is always a transitional process, whether you are moving away from home for the first time, returning to school after a break, or continuing your education after completing an associate’s or bachelor’s program at a different school.

UEWM has no on-campus housing, so attending UEWM will not give you quite the same student experience as would a university with dorms, but this just gives you the opportunity to open yourself up to new experiences and connect with the Sunnyvale community as a UEWM student in your spare time.

Think Local

The Silicon Valley takes great pride in the uniquely local products they have to offer. Farmers’ markets in the area are abundant with organic, delicious produce, homemade artisan food products and unique craft creations year-round, because Northern California firmly believes in supporting sustainability, natural foods and the creative arts. As a student studying traditional Chinese medicine at UEWM, you will definitely be able to appreciate this. Traditional Chinese medicine is based on using natural, time-honored methods like acupuncture, massage, herbal treatment and tai chi to heal the body from within, and there is no better way to sustain a healthy body than with organic, locally grown produce from hard working farmers.
Downtown Sunnyvale hosts a vibrant Farmers’ Market every Saturday morning, which will give you and your fellow UEWM classmates the perfect chance to try samples of local produce, talk with farmers and other talented individuals sharing their creativity, and enjoy the beautiful, sunny California weather. Keep an eye out for festivals in the area, too, which will give you the chance to enjoy live music, indulge in delicious food, and learn more about the businesses serving the community.

Get Some Fresh Air

The city of Sunnyvale has a total of seventeen charming parks for locals to enjoy. After studying hard in classes and completing hours of hands-on training, any UEWM student will feel so refreshed after putting aside some time to enjoy being outside, people-watching, and clearing the mind with the peaceful sounds of nature.

The Reward of Service

One of the most rewarding things about being a medical student is knowing you are dedicating your time and studies to helping others, and this will be even more rewarding if you take the time to bond with the community you are serving. Take as many opportunities as possible to attend local events and learn more about Sunnyvale, and you will see why it’s the best city you could have chosen as your home while studying at
